Lisa Longball 2007 & 2008

2007 was kick started with the birth of our first child, Luke Vlooswyk on January 9. Our little Luke has been a great joy in our lives and has been growing like a weed. The year was highlighted with my Top Ten finish at the World Championships and the celebration of my 10th wedding anniversary with my husband Anton.

As for the 2008 golf season I am thrilled to be sponsored by Nike for my 4th consecutive year.  On February 2nd, I hosted SUMO Saturday at Golf Town in Calgary, the product launch for NikeÕs new equipment.  Stephen Ames headlined the event sharing tips and talking about the impact the new equipment has had on his game. I am looking forward to trying out the newest SUMO 2 Driver in competition.

I have continued to work with my club fitting guru Lyle Helland of Simply Golf and with my swing coach Bob McArthur in the off season. Bob and I have also ventured into the world of Golf Specific Strength Training and we have both been working with Dr. Ryan Emmons and have seen fantastic results. I am excited to tee it up this year.

I look forward to a busy season full of speaking engagements and Corporate and Charity Golf Outings.  I am also gearing up for the first competition of the year, the LDA Tour event -The Desert Duel, in Mesquite, Nevada June 13-14.  Should be a great competition!  Right after the event I will be heading to the TELUS Skins Game at Predator Ridge in Vernon BC.  I am very excited to be involved in entertaining and hosting at the event.  The PGA Tour players that will be on hand include Mike Weir, Fred Couples, Greg Norman, Colin Montgomerie and Camilo Villegas.

I will continue in my role as a golf journalist writing for both the Calgary Herald and Inside Golf Magazine.
In July I will be heading to Scotland to review the newest course at St. Andrews the Castle Course and to play the Old Course with my husband Anton.  We will then head to the British Open at The Royal Birkdale in England.

In addition to motivational speaking, golf entertaining and journalism I am pleased to continue to run the Links for Women Golf Schools in Calgary and have recently become the Alberta and BC Rockies representative for the exciting event, The International Pairs (www.internationalpairs.ca).

Thank you for all of your continued support!  All the best for a fantastic golf season!
